by Laurent Charles, 80's { The Charles }
Seville is the dancing verticality of Andalusia: Laurent Charles drew from it a tall, slender stand. Three legs of hammered bronze, tapered, rise with a faint cinter to carry a small round glass top, at bust height. The bronze, gilt or silvered, keeps the trace of the hammer. The piece serves as a pedestal — for a sculpture, a vase, an object one wishes to raise. Tall and fine, it lifts its top like a plinth.
