Tower

A tower of small cubes of dark metal, drawn tight in a checkerboard over its whole height, and, running along the grey face like an outcropping seam, blocks of gold. Michael Wagner made of it the secret of the piece: among these golden cubes, a hidden little drawer, which pulls out to yield its reserve. The vein of gold seems to spring from the grey stone. Between sculpture, column, and cabinet of secrets, the Tower keeps its treasure in plain sight.
