by Felix Agostini, 1957 { The Agostini Legacy }
After the doves of Toujours Amour, Amour Ardent speaks the other face of feeling: the thunderbolt of love at first sight. The luminous sculpture freezes a bolt of bronze, a broken and keen line that streaks the wall in a single stroke. Félix Agostini casts the metal in sharp edges, keeping the grain of the hand beneath the patina. The cylindrical shade sets on this stroke of fire: the light climbs toward the ceiling, descends again from below, and the bolt rises in shadow behind the veil, as if held in mid-sky. With the Ariel wall light, it is one of the favorite pieces of the artist's daughter.
