by Laurent Charles, 80's { The Charles }
Kyoto, ancient imperial capital of Japan, is the city of temples and Zen philosophy. Laurent Charles translates its pure line: a sconce in a half-cone of sandblasted glass, stretched like a fan, from which a soft light escapes, punctuated at its lower point by three fine bronze leaves, like bamboo. Nothing superfluous. The milky glass diffuses a calm brightness; the three leaves sign the motif. The piece breathes the bareness of a Japanese garden.
