Orgues 4 Pipes H. 180 Cm

by Jacques Charles, 60's   { The Charles }

In the 1960s, Jacques Charles launched a great series of stainless-steel lights, resolutely of the seventies in spirit. The Orgues is its flagship, an emblem of the maison Charles. Cathedral organs raise their metal pipes in clustered ranks. Jacques Charles turned them into a column lamp: polished brass tubes, grouped and staggered, cut on the bias at varied heights, over which the light slides, soft and warm. This version counts four or six pipes, on a cubic or circular base. The polish returns one unbroken reflection from floor to crown.
