by Denise Pietra-Corbara, 1970s { The Agostini Legacy }
The man draws his bow toward the Moon and aims true: Homme Cosmos tells this gesture, childlike and grave at once. Denise Pietra Corbara, companion and pupil of Félix Agostini, weds like him the curve and the straight line: a circle for the body, a strained line for the arrow, a ring set above for the aimed star. The sculpture keeps an almost primitive freshness, close to a child's drawing. The patinated bronze holds the grain of the casting: the figure stands on a round base, balanced by the sole justness of its lines.
