by La Maison Charles, 2008 { The Charles }
Conceived by Luc Gensollen in 2008 for the centenary of the maison Charles, the Bubbles series is heightened by the rare technique of verre églomisé, silvered by hand. At the scale of a pendant, the spheres form a constellation: mirrored bubbles gather into clusters that radiate around a central hub, like the branches of a star. The lights sit between them, which each sphere reflects and multiplies. The piece comes in several formats, from 3 to 28 sources of light, and in several patinas and finishes. Depending on the eye, it takes on the look of a cloud or of champagne bubbles, and sets the whole ceiling glittering.
