by La Maison Charles, 1900 { The Charles }
The Louis XV style loved curves, gilding, and girandoles of candles. The maison Charles drew from it this candelabrum floor lamp: a curved shaft of gilt bronze, rising from a moulded round brass base and carrying, beneath the shade, a bouquet of light-arms like so many candles. The whole breathes the decor of the eighteenth-century French interior.
