by Jacques Charles, 60's { The Charles }
We have always reached toward the moon without ever touching it. Jacques Charles sculpted that gesture: two blades of bronze spring from the floor, one drawn to a point, the other curved into a crescent that gathers a sphere into the hollow of its tip. The moon set, at last, in a hand of metal. The globe comes in glass or in brass; the bronze, polished or patinated, runs in a single clean curve. Without a shade, the light is born from the sphere itself, round and full.
