Nautila

The nautilus traces the truest spiral in nature: as it grows its shell coils to a proportion unchanged for hundreds of millions of years. Jacques Charles has cast it in bronze, faithful to the partitions and the smooth curve of the model. On this sconce version the shell rises coils on a slender stem. A rectangular brass shade crowns the whole. The bronze runs the light along the volute.
