Orgues Aelita

by La Maison Charles, 2000's   { The Charles }

Emmanuel Bossuet takes up the Orgues motif of Jacques Charles and reads it through a futurist eye: a cluster of pipes here mingles chrome and gilt brass, tiered in height, punctuated by twelve LED spots, on a round brass base. The name, Aelita, borrowed from the heroine of a 1920s science-fiction film, speaks of this surge forward. The two metals answer one another, gold at the core, silver at the rim. Light streams between the tubes.
