The façades of Italian Renaissance palaces wore garlands of carved leaves and flowers: it is to that ornamentation that Joëlle Fèvre borrows the name Palazzo. She has arranged this bouquet of gilded leaves as one assembles the motif of a still life — the ginkgo leaves overlap, asymmetrical, in the pleasure of a curve that answers the plant's veining. The light, lodged at the centre, passes through the leaves and reveals their veins.
