by Felix Agostini, 1969 { The Agostini Legacy }
Félix Agostini created this console in 1969 for Princess Shams, elder sister of the Shah of Iran. The piece reads like a team in harness: two filiform bronze horses, strained forward, draw the top as one drives a carriage. A low crossbar joins them by a central ring, the junction point of the welded team. The polished bronze keeps the grain of the hand, its reworkings beneath the gleam. A top of marble or glass rests on this double horse: the pale mass answers the nervousness of the legs, anchored to the floor by the sole density of the metal.
