by Felix Agostini, 1976 { The Agostini Legacy }
Ispahan takes up the Persian horse, but raises it this time on its legs to make a mast. The floor lamp rises from a bronze foot in the silhouette of a rearing animal: the neck runs upward, surmounted by a fine inclined head, where one usually expects a simple stem. Félix Agostini sculpts the metal in angular planes, polished on the edges, matte in the hollows. The cylindrical shade sets at the summit like a load on the withers: the light descends on the long bronze body, and the equestrian silhouette stretches into shadow.
