by Felix Agostini, 1968 { The Agostini Legacy }
The wading bird keeps watch at the water's edge on its long legs, heron or stork on the lookout. The floor lamp takes up its stance, Agostini's declared homage to Alberto and Diego Giacometti: two bronze legs rise from the floor, supple, slightly flexed, carrying their load aloft. The part adjoining the shade, once in fragile plaster, is now cast in resin, a wager the ateliers of Charles took up. The rectangular shade sets at their summit: the light descends along the legs, and their splay carries on as a shadow on the floor.
