by Felix Agostini, 1955 { The Agostini Legacy }
The rifle holds within a line: long, straight, strained upward. The floor lamp espouses its slenderness. A single bronze stem rises from a round base, barely branched along the way by a knotted gleam, like a branch drawn out. Félix Agostini casts the metal at its tightest, keeping the reworkings and the grain of the hand. The cylindrical shade caps this vertical stroke: the light descends along the bronze shaft, lengthens the silhouette further, and sets it on the floor in a fine, tall shadow.
