The Stool

by Kossi Aguessy, 2000's   { Collaborations }

Kossi Aguessy brought the stool back to three gestures: a saddle, three legs, a ring that ties them. The seat, in polished metal, hollows into a soft basin like a leather saddle; the three tubular feet meet beneath a central ring, and one of them springs in a curve beyond, like a leg extended. The form, animal and nomadic, holds as much of the stand as of the campfire companion. The stool becomes a silhouette.
