by La Maison Charles, 2008 { The Charles }
Conceived by Luc Gensollen in 2008 for the centenary of the maison Charles, the Bubbles series unfolds an effervescence of mirrored spheres, from wall to ceiling. The Falling Bubbles version sends its bubbles rising and falling, suspended in mid-air: several clusters of mirrored spheres come down from the ceiling at different heights, joined by fine cables. The whole floats like a column of effervescence fixed in the instant. The verre églomisé, silvered by hand and signed by the master glassmaker Stéphane Rivoal, catches the light and throws it from sphere to sphere. The composition, airy and shifting, fills the volume as much as the ceiling, and comes in silver, gold or black.
