Torchere Moderne

by Laurent Charles, 80's   { The Charles }

In the Middle Ages, torchères were fixed to the wall to light the halls: a flame held in an iron arm. Laurent Charles imagines the modern version: a long tapered shaft, point downward, held by a wall ring, topped with a frosted glass cup that lights up like a flame. The shaft is sheathed in leather (ref. 0340-1) or hammered in metal (ref. 0340-0). The light rises from the cup.
