The fern has unrolled its fronds since geological ages, long before the flower existed. Peter Woodward raised one, cast in bronze, on a cubic base, like a herbarium plant turned stele. The frond, chased to the last leaflet, comes in a dark, bluish, or gilt patina, and in several sizes. The bronze fixes its vertical surge. Set on its cube, the oldest leaf in the world is contemplated like a minimal sculpture.
