Fougere, 5 Leaves

by Chrystiane Charles, 70's   { The Charles }

The fern stands among the oldest plants on earth, unrolling its crosiers long before the flowers. Chrystiane Charles made a sheaf of gilt-bronze fronds spring from the wall, as if driven by the wind, leaping up and falling back. The light, caught at the heart of the fronds, backlights them and casts their lacework on the wall. The chased bronze renders each leaflet.
