by Chrystiane Charles, 70's { The Charles }
Love is in season when the gorse is in flower,' says the proverb, and on the moors of Brittany the gorse flowers almost all year. Chrystiane Charles, inspired by the great stainless-steel series of her brother-in-law Jacques Charles, has drawn a column of curved metal blades, gathered in a sheaf, opening just enough to let the light filter through. The brass, polished to mirror gold or silver, catches the clarity in the hollow of each blade. Set directly on the tray, the form keeps the dense yellow gleam of the moorland flower.
