Cordage

by Laurent Charles, 80's   { The Charles }

Cordage, the seafaring art of braiding and coiling ropes, gives this sconce its name through the metal spring that winds around its shaft, like a line turned on itself. Jacques Bobroff and Laurent Charles set out from a wall backplate a metal arm that curves and carries a fabric shade, the coiled cordage just beneath the bowl. The single version (ref. 0360) lights from one point; the double (ref. 0360-1) deploys two arms and two shades.
