by Olivia Putman, 2011 { Collaborations }
For this sconce drawn for the maison Charles, Olivia Putman designed a single paper lantern, like those seen over French villages on summer evenings: a ribbed brass lantern, hung from a clean bracket. The polished metal, chrome or brass, catches the brightness. Detached from the bouquet of the floor-lamp version, the lantern lights alone, but keeps the same air of festivity, a memory of celebration.
