For this chandelier designed for the maison Charles, Olivia Putman has gathered a bouquet of paper-lantern lights, like those seen on summer evenings in French villages: five brass lanterns, ribbed, hung from the ceiling at different heights, giving out a warm, golden glow. Suspended from their stems like so many threads, they tier into a light cluster. The brass, ribbed, cuts the light into fine veins. The village dance invites itself to the ceiling.
