Mademoiselle

by Jacques Charles, 60's   { The Charles }

From the female silhouette, the maison Charles keeps one line: a bronze shaft that rises from the wall, bends, and opens into a loop at the top, like an arched body, topped with a half-drum that folds the light back. The Sculpture Femme version (ref. 7002) crowns it in gold; Mademoiselle (ref. 7002-1) dresses it in silver. The hammered bronze keeps the trace of the hand. The figure surfaces in the twist of the stem. The light descends from the cup onto the wall, soft.
