No city tells the vertical like Manhattan, where the skyscrapers press together and climb to storm the sky. Jean Kerguenne has made of it the foot of this lamp: a cluster of chromed-brass bars of varying heights, raised side by side like a skyline in miniature. The white cylindrical fabric shade sets its pale mass at the top of the tower. The polished metal catches the light between its crossbars. Urban geometry becomes a table sculpture.
