Didier La Mache has crossed fine metal rods as one casts a game of jackstraws, in a disordered sheaf from the tip of each of which springs a small source of light. The name says the intention: rays, and the happiness of a scattered clarity. On a round base, the rods soar in every direction, gilt or chromed. The light comes not from one point but from a constellation. The piece is as much a bouquet of sparks as a luminaire.
