A leaf, raised and pointed upward, reads like a wing: this is the very flight the Coupe Envol and the Miroir Envol created by Chrystiane Charles had already caught. Peter Woodward isolates its drawing here: a single wing-leaf of bronze, tapered and veined, raised on a base like a herbarium specimen stood upright. The patina, silvered or gilded, runs along the chased veins.
