by Chrystiane Charles, 70's { The Charles }
Envol: the instant the bird leaves the ground, wings still half-folded. Chrystiane Charles caught it in a sconce, a wing of gilt bronze, chased and bent, that rises in the hollow of a half-cup of sandblasted glass. The light, caught behind the cup, climbs in a fan on the wall, while the gilded wing catches the brightness in the foreground.
