Raphael Navot was born in Jerusalem in 1977. After studying at Design Academy Eindhoven, where he graduated in conceptual design in 2003, he settled in Paris and established his studio there.
His work spans object design, interior architecture and architecture. He approaches each project through an exploration of materials and their possibilities, working closely with the craftspeople who bring them to life.
In 2011, he designed the interiors and served as artistic director of Silencio, the Parisian nightclub created for David Lynch. Six years later, he completed the Hôtel National des Arts et Métiers: seven floors of spaces, surfaces and furniture designed specifically for the hotel. He went on to design the library and art gallery at the Domaine des Étangs in Massignac, followed by the Hôtel Dame des Arts in Paris in 2023.
His collaborations with design houses extend this work across different scales. His collectible design works have been presented by Friedman Benda.
For the maison Charles, Raphael Navot has designed several lighting pieces and objects, including the sculptural Animal banquette, the Shine and Shine Back to Back lamps, and Landscape, produced in a limited edition of eight.
