by Felix Agostini, 1964 { The Agostini Legacy }
The sapajou is a small American monkey with a prehensile tail, always in motion, gripping the branches. The low table keeps its agility: two bronze arms cross in a crescent and meet by a crossbar, like a coiled tail holding its top. Félix Agostini casts the metal in taut lines, holding the grain of bark in the hollow of the patinated bronze. A broad disc of glass rests on this light structure: the top seems to float, supported by the sole bearing of the arcs that close at the floor.
