Chouette

The owl, night bird of piercing sight, is the bird of Athena and the emblem of wisdom. Chrystiane Charles has cast it in gilt bronze, facing forward, wings folded into a heart, its two great round eyes open to the light. Each feather is chased one by one. The bird stands on a cubic base. The brass shade, set above, lets the light slide along the sculpture and sets the gilded plumage vibrating.
