by Chrystiane Charles, 70's { The Charles }
The sunflower follows the sun from one end of the day to the other, faithful to the light. Chrystiane Charles fixed the flower to the wall, beneath a rectangular shade: a great bronze disc, crowned with petals and teeming with spiralled seeds, chased to the nearest detail of the flower. The light descends from the shade and sets the granular heart gleaming. The silvered or gilt bronze renders all its relief.
