by Thomas Bastide, 2009 { Collaborations }
A pitcher tilts to offer its contents: Thomas Bastide has caught that gesture and fixed it in polished metal. The faceted body, riveted like a piece of silverwork, tips slightly, handle high and spout open, as if pouring light. At the crest of the handle watches a chased eagle's head, beak ajar, answering the pouring spout, in the manner of the antique ewers crowned with animal heads. The mirror metal reflects the table around it; the clarity escapes through the tilted opening.
