by Jacques Charles, 60's { The Charles }
Coral is the most patient architect of the marine world: reef upon reef, across centuries, colonies of polyps build the only living work visible from space. In the 70’s, Jacques Charles has cast its branching form in bronze. The boughs, organic, spread and divide from a geometric base, each chased to keep the fragile porosity of the original. The brass shade, rectangular, sets its clean horizontal above this mineral lacework.
