by Felix Agostini, 1974 { The Agostini Legacy }
Robespierre summons the Revolution, and the lamp bears the name well: clean as they are, its lines raise the silhouette of a guillotine. Félix Agostini, inventor of the double-screen shade, gives here an accomplished version: a convex screen bordering another, smaller one, slipped behind. The bronze foot keeps the grain of the casting beneath the patina. The light divides between the two veils: held by the inner screen, it overflows onto the larger, and the shadow of the blade is glimpsed in the hollow of the double fold.
