The woodpecker climbs the trunk and hammers it, green and red bird of the undergrowth. Denise Pietra Corbara fixes it here in full effort, gripping a vertical bronze stem, pierced with an eye at its base. The animal has shed its red and blue feathers for the 24-carat gilding, then the fire patina, which hold the grain of the casting. Capped with a pivoting half-cylindrical shade: the light orients itself with the screen, glides over the gilded metal, and follows the climb of the bird along its stem.
