Cocotte names the hen in familiar french speech, and the lamp takes its silhouette: three bronze stems meet in a bird's foot, swaying at the hip, ready to step forward. At the summit, a small perforated plate carries the socket like a head set on a strained neck. Félix Agostini casts the metal in nervous, irregular lines that keep the trace of the tool. The conical shade rests in balance on this animal tripod: the light descends on the bronze foot and lengthens it further with its cast shadow.
