by Chrystiane Charles, 70's { The Charles }
Kazan means volcano in Japanese, the mountain of fire. From a journey, Chrystiane Charles brings back the memory and the silhouette of Mount Fuji. Over the black, lustrous brass belly of this table lamp, a crown of chased bronze surges and spills down the flanks, like molten matter caught at the instant of eruption. The metal seizes the light across its thousand edges; a circular shade of écru fabric closes the composition and returns it to the calm roundness of the body.
