by Chrystiane Charles, 70's { The Charles }
Seaweed has no roots: it clings, sways and rises towards the light with the movement of the current. Chrystiane Charles imagined a colony climbing a brass column, bronze branch after bronze branch, as though the tide had left them there. The casting follows every delicate twig and curve of the marine vegetation. In its original form, a rectangular brass shade crowns the column. The base is also available in lacquered wood, in black or ivory.
