by Jacques Charles, 60's { The Charles }
An arch in its plainest form: the bare curve, to span, to bear, to step over. Jacques Charles crossed several of them in brass to build the foot of this floor lamp: cintered bands that rise from the floor, meet, and carry a cylindrical shade aloft. The open structure seems barely to touch the ground. A variant, Arceaux Plateau (ref. 7102-1), slips a gilt-brass shelf in at mid-height, turning the lamp into a luminous console.
