by Felix Agostini, 1969 { The Agostini Legacy }
A bird caught in a trap, and shining still: Félix Agostini shuts a disc of alabaster within a cage of bronze, a rectangular frame bristling with points, a lozenge hung below like the trigger of a snare. The bronze keeps the grain of the casting, sharp beneath the finish. The stone, captive, holds the brightness within its thickness. The light wells from the alabaster: it spills past the frame, casts its halo on the wall, and the caught bird glows all the brighter.
