by Felix Agostini, 1971 { The Agostini Legacy }
Between the Arcturus sconce and this one, Félix Agostini kept his head among the stars: the quasar is one of the most luminous bodies in the cosmos, the distant hearth of a galaxy. The piece bears its name and its promise of brightness. A bronze frame traces two uprights held high by a wire, and a rectangular screen comes to hang from them, espousing the line of the metal. The casting keeps the grain of the hand beneath the gilding. The light wells behind the screen: held by the veil, it overflows through the edges and haloes the bronze.
