Amour Toujours

by Felix Agostini, 1957   { The Agostini Legacy }

Two birds face one another, beak to beak, and the hollow of their bodies draws a heart. Félix Agostini's spread wings open wide upward, feathers chased one by one, raised like two golden flames. The casting keeps the trembling of the plumage, the grain of the hand beneath the gold. Above, a broad cintered shade gathers the beam: the light climbs toward the ceiling, descends again over the wings, and the heart of the two doves cuts out in shadow.
