by La Maison Charles, 60's { The Charles }
The lotus takes root in watery depths and opens, immaculate, at the surface: from Egypt to India it is everywhere the symbol of purity and rebirth. The maison Charles has cast the open flower in bronze, silver petals spread in a cup and a gilded heart, raised on a fluted column and its geometric pedestal. The brass shade, gold-ringed and crowned with a finial, closes the vertical. The light settles in the hollow of the corolla as on an open chalice.
